Every season as NASCAR drivers go head to head battling for supremacy on the track, there is one ultimate victory that always remains on the forefront of their minds – the Chase for the Sprint Cup. After 26 regular season races, the real competition for glory begins when the top 10 drivers and 2 wild cards are selected to compete over the course of 10 playoff races to determine the year’s ultimate NASCAR champion.
One of these 10 exhilarating races takes place annually at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. To handle their suite graphics, vehicle graphics for their 50th anniversary promotional car and its accompanying trailer, as well as the arduous task of all track signage, PIR turned to their longtime friends at bluemedia to make sure the event’s signage looked flawless and was executed without a hitch.
In addition to the normal excitement, bluemedia was also called in at the last minute to wrap two separate trucks for Kyle Bush Motorsports. Although initially hired to install graphics on only one truck, when the second team truck was involved in a crash during practice, the job quickly became much larger.
bluemedia’s install team was given a 4 hour window to do one truck but were now tasked with having to complete two vehicles in the timeframe traditionally allotted to one. Always up for a challenge, bluemedia’s crew completed both trucks in 3.5 hours! And the 51 truck piloted by seventeen-year-old Erik Jones of Byron, Michigan, went on to became the youngest-ever race winner of a NASCAR national touring series event when he piloted his truck to victory that Friday night at PIR.
